Hi Richard
She did smile ;-) I even got a little kiss for it ! Good points for me !
It was her birthday, so i think she deserved it !

About the Zorki. In fact : I like it very much. It costed less than
50dollars (with the lens), and was shipped from Oekraïne in less than 10
days.
I put 3 roles of film through it. The shutter is very loud, but more so in
the beginning. I think this camera (produced in 1968 in former Sovjet Union)
has been in a drawer for decades and now starts to loosen up. The first
pictures were not sharp because of the vibration I guess, the last pictures
were better. The results looks a bit like old polaroid pictures to me.
I like to hold it and look at it. It feels so well crafted, and looks like a
little juwel to me. It is the only camera I know you need to read the manual
before you touch anything, because if you turn the wrong knob, the shutter
will die.
If this is what you want : "and a'la The Holga it might be an interesting
way to do 'bad photography' in an artistic way."
I think this camera could be a good buy.
There are plenty available, so make sure to be patient, to find a seller
with good reputation and one that says "fully functional and tested".
Or buy a Nikon FE for not much more, as I did, and have a more reliable
camera that can take Nikon glass ...
Or an old Leica III ?
Just my 2c.
greetings, Axel
