There is an interesting story on the BBC news website, today.

UK Photographer, Steve Hawkey, took some antique, wet plate camera equipment
to a fair-trade silver mine, in Peru, and took photos of the miners,
underground, using silver mined by those men, in that mine, to make the
emulsion!

A fascinating story, with numerous photos.
