Reminds me of our Sasha. She too was a starving kitten dropped from the sky.
She goes out some but mostly follows me around like a puppy. Funny thing, she
won't sit in my lap, but loves Kathy's.

We rescued her, some years ago, when we were down at the barns, feeding our
horses. She came up to me and complained about being cold and hungry.
She had a point. It as -25C (-13F), she weighed under a pound (450 grams)
and had lost most of the fur off her back, from malnutrition - making her one
cold kitty. I estimated, at the time, that she'd survive no more than
another 18 to 36 hours, before either starvation or the cold got to her.
I picked her up and stuffed her in my jacket, to warm her up. She purred and
the rest, as they say, is history.
At first, she was called "Little One", but that soon changed. Because she'd
been starved, she'd eat anything which remotely looked like food. Cheese,
brocoli, carrots, you name it. She would eat almost anything!
She gained weight so fast, that her name changed from "Little One", to "Lard
Butt", in no time.
But, having tried the big, bad outdoors once, she's not keen to try it again.
So, while most cats love to be outside, especially in the summer, Lard Butt,
will sit, for hours, in an open doorway and "take the air", as people used to
say. But, all from the safety of the great indoors.
So, here's our brave cat, in action....
