That Giga Pixel camers is definitely impressive, but looks like it's about as portable as a Glass Plate Field Camera and require as much support and accoutremont to be shooting pictures anywhere that doesnt have a handy electrical outlet to plug it into! :-) And if you did go into the field you'd have to buy your shoulder strap at a Lift Rigging Supplier! (FDLake in Grand Michigan comes to mind - my sister works there!) On a Sci-Fi note, the Camera they built looks an awful lot like the "Holographic" cameras used in some of the later series in the Star Trek Franchise. Upon reflection the GP Camera definitely looks a lot like the 'Holographic Emiters' seen in some Voyager Episodes.
