I had an R4 with a "bad" serial number for years, but never had any problems
with it (and I've heard many similar tales from others - any bad R4s have
probably long been fixed).
I recently "upgraded" to an R5 just for the 1/2000...

Subject: [LRflex] R cameras

I have had a used R-E for about 3 years and like it.
Almost bought a nicer//less used R3 today but something wasn't right in
Automatic mode.
It had not been demo'ed in 2 years and we loaded new batteries but it kept
defaulting to 1/1000th of a second for shutter speed.

I know that R4's can be quirky (they had a used body and never-sold new body in
R4's) and I really did not want to pay what they wanted for a used R6 body.

Any thoughts on the R3's problems?

Michael aka funsky1
