Hello Aram,

I've just started monitoring this forum. I've been shooting a Leica Digilux 2 and a Nikon F100. The latter was a gray market disaster, and I'm nearly glad it fell off my trlipod on hard stone at Angkor Wat, Cambodia. In a couple of months I will deploy to Afghanistan and I want a camera for B&W with some telephoto capability because of the need to be a bit circumspect when approaching some Afghanis. I saw that you're advertising our R4, have you sold it yet. I'm interested but also torn whether to invest in a new R model. It would be my first Leica R. I had the Leica P&S's: CM and Minilux. Electronics gave out in both, without much use and very meticulous care. Lecia would not repair them either. So I'm gun-shy about Leica electronics. Please let me know about your R4. I will only have limited chances to shoot and I need absolute reliability. Thanks in advance.

Kevin

PS: I bought a Hass 500CM and am enjoying it immensely.

I like your lower contrast new version better than Steve’s higher contrast version. The sepia one has possibilities, but I think the contrast is higher, or looks higher, then your version. I would try the sepia one again, but keep the contrast down as in your new version. This is an excellent shot and any version looks good if you do not see the other.

Thanks Steve, Ken, David, Lluis, Douglas, Geoff, Bill, & al..

Steve's edit looks better on the PC too indeed.
I've just been back to the file and tried to follow your hints.

I've posted both edits here:

Maybe too dark for some?

Please let me know.

it's beautiful, and I think I know what you are going for,

only question is...

is it too dark for you?

Not on the Mac
Yet is on the PC ...
same question over and over again

I am not surprised, same problem for all of us, not the fault of the mac or the PC...the two are always different, and any two macs or two PC's will be different as well, so when you are right on the edge...

one size does not fit all....

btw I did this...it looks very good at least on my imac...

Steve

I guess it will be fine when printed as is on the Mac

Thanks for your input Steve

I remember the film BTW; those guys did know how to light a scene , and Simon what un sacré bonhomme

Amitiés
Philippe

amities,

Steve
