Thanks, Dave -- I'm finding that manual-focus for portraits in dim light with the f1.4 lens is fairly good. Skin tones at 1600 ISO hold up pretty well, too. On my older Olympus E-330 with Leica-R adapter, ISO 400 was already a bit questionable. Unfortunately, there is no DOF connection with an R lens on the Canon. You focus and shoot at whatever f-stop is set on the lens. Also unfortunately, Leica Company certainly abandoned a lot of R lenses by going with the S2 and also abandoned a lot of M lenses by only having a ridiculously priced body. Even factoring for inflation, the M9 is two to three times the cost of the M2 back when I bought my first Leica. Plus, the trend of all things digital is lower prices for more capability. All except Leica. Disappointedly, Gary At 06:33 PM 12/7/2010, you wrote: >You've got some very nice portraits in there, Gary.
