Funny, I never thought pink dogwood were so specific to our area.  I am sure they are all over Seattle and Spokane.  Not sure where they are native to.  These are all ornamentals as far as I know.  We have a native dogwood in the woods and it is white.

Many are saying the have never seen pink dogwood, so here are a few
shots of the thousands of pink dogwood trees around Yakima.  We have an
abundance of white dogwood, too.
