Yesterday was the Western Canada Final, for Ice Racing at Stake Lake, and it brought out some of the best racers. These guys race at 130 kph (80 mph) in the straight aways, slowing to a "mere" 100kph (60mph) in the corners. On sheer ice, it's not an easy thing to do! Here they are, in the back stretch... http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-8.html And coming into corner 4 http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-9.html As they get a little closer... http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-10.html Not everybody remembers to slow down, in the corner.. http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-11.html Which leads to a rider's worst nightmare... http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-12.html But after a quick shake of his head, he was back in the race... http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-13.html And, in the end, somebody had to win... http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-14.html C&C welcomed, as always.
