A press release from Solms has just announced that the Digital Leicaflex is starting prodution today. The original machines used to build the Leciaflex SL2, in storage since production ceased in 1975, have been shipped to Panasonic's camera division in Japan. The new camera will have a full-frame 30 megapixel sensor, keep the original mirrorbox, but will have a new vertically travelling electronic shutter offering faster speeds and even less noise than the original. The standard body will be made of composites rather than metal (weight 450 g.), but a fully metal "classic" body will also be available. Compatibility with all R lenses ever produced has been assured (it even has mirror lock up and can use the 21mm f/3.4). Other feature include (excludable) focus confirmation, space inside for a spare accumulator, sensor cleaning and (excludable) sensor based anti-shake. Retail price should be $ 700 ------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www.lrflex.furnfeather.net/ Archives are at: //www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/
