So, how about the Leica 28-90 ASPH?
Aram,
Back in my R9 with DMR days I bought a 28-90mm after using and falling in love
with the 35-70mm, thinking it would be cool to extend the focal length range.
But the ergonomics of it, the size and weight, made the rig too cumbersome for
my taste and I took it back.
I can’t speak to any optical properties but I imagine the Leica elves did their
usual thing with it and unless you look at pixels by themselves the results
would be indistinguishable from any other Leica lens of that era, but that’s
just my untutored idea,
Try one out somehow and you’ll see what I mean. The SL and 24-90mm push the
edge of “cumbersome” a bit too far also but I can learn to live with it.
Meanwhile i’m having fun with an SL and my M lenses, no AF but Focus Peaking is
a blast.
Best,
Bill
