All: Kodak has always attempted to offer good quality at the low end of the price spectrum. And they've been good at it! Just look at the number of Instamatics sold, compared to Leicas, Nikons or Canons. Now, they've introduced a new line of printers, to compete with HP, Canon, et al. What makes them interesting, is that they "enable consumers to affordably print crisp, sharp documents and KODAK lab-quality photos at home using premium, pigment-based inks ....with exceptional quality that lasts a lifetime under typical home display conditions. " OK, so I've used cut and paste to combine bits of two sentences from their press release. Shoot me for taking things out of context. But this is the key... long lasting, PIGMENTED (not dye based) inks. Better yet, ink cartridges will be $10 for black, and $15 for colour ... about half the going rates, or less. If the quality is as good as they claim (I still have my doubts) colour home printing may become viable, after all! http://www.dpreview.com/news/0702/07020601kodakallinoneprinters.asp Cheers! --- David Young, Logan Lake, CANADA Wildlife Photographs: http://www.telyt.com/ Personal Web-pages: http://www3.telus.net/~telyt ------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www3.telus.net/~telyt/lrflex.htm Archives are at: //www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/
