Thanks for viewing Aram.
We were told that the village we were staying in for instance, has its main
(and nearly only) street on a former path used by hippos. They consequently
still use the path/road at night.
And when we left the restaurant to walk back to the hotel after dinner, we used
our phone to light up the way as the locals didn’t seem many on the street at
that time. We didn’t encounter any trouble, we however followed the advice of
the guide and of the hotel manager …
I presume a hippo can easily capsize a light boat that fishermen use. Kids may
also be less aware of the hazards. This is no Disneyland, that’s real life
there, and Africa is a continent.

How many of those 3000 people are doing things they should not be doing?

May be embiggened as usual
On a light note, I like to think that the last one features the feelings
aroused by the view of so many tourists equipped with their cameras that wink
at you, and go klick in an attempt to mimic the local language ;-)
On a more tragic plane, hippos are reported to kill an average 3,000 people a
year on the continent …
