Hi David Half to the three is a joke for a fellow lugger who keeps bullying my pet. Yet, it is a fairly drastic crop.I've now posted the FF shot taken 1/25 sec earlier as I was bracketing in the hope of squeezing some HDR out of the take.It is here for you to have an idea of the crop. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Phileica/Playground/8+juin-1100578.jpg.html Thanks for viewing and commenting. Hi to Rose Philippe
G'Mornin' again, Philippe!Wow! That's still just over 1/2 the image area... and still beautifully detailed.
People keep telling me that the smaller 4/3rds sensor is not so good ... but I keep squeezing 12x18" prints - often using 75 to 80% of the image - out of it and getting quality sufficient to regularly garner $450 a print!
Most people cannot tell the difference between the Oly shots and those taken with the DMR. I can tell, but in many cases, it's a real stretch, even for me! The top-level Oly glass is not quite up to Leica standards, but will hold it's own with Canon "L" or top-line Nikon glass.
Now that the hope of an R10 is gone, I'll buy the E4 when it comes out (rumoured to be this fall) and keep the E3 for back-up. With adapters for my existing Leica lenses and Oly glass for AF, I'll be a happy camper, indeed!
