Thanks David, I can still rotate more than 200 degrees ;-) 16 vertical frames stitched in Panomaker - my main concern was with the exposure due to one part being shot straight into the sun - I made a series of rough assessments in spot mode, then tried to reckon what I wanted preserved (highlights are just at the limit on the original frames) and the DoF for the rocks and ferns on the sides. Of course I settled for full manual and the pifométric* zone system as patented by your servant :-) One of the occasions when the old tricks learnt years ago nicely merge with the new post-processing technologies ;-) Thanks for viewing and commenting Amitiés Philippe * pifometrique Fr, comes from "pif" i.e. nose in slang, is just trying your good luck ... guestimate? ======================================= Message du : 08/05/2011 De : "David Young " <dsy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> A : "LRflex" <leicareflex@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Copie à : Sujet : [LRflex] Re: IMG: PAW 16 - Phx In a message dated 07/05/2011, leicareflex@xxxxxxxxxxxxx said ... > In the midst of a 7 hours' walk last Monday - alt ca 7,000 > fthttp://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Phileica/PAW-2011/2011-PAW-16-Engie.jpg.html > Probably better apreciated large. G'Mornin' Philippe! I looked at your image and admired your skill with a pano head & tripod. When I saw that note... > I wish I had brought filters, a level and a tripod, but it was too late ... my jaw dropped. The sharpness and detail, for a series of hand-held shots, is absolutely stunning! (The photo's incredibly nice, too!) Nicely done!
