I like the framing - don't think you need to be too much closer. However, a longer lens would have been in order, as the heavily cropped image now looks noticeably "soft". These little guys are fast, and hard to shoot. You think you've got a great pose, and you end up with departing tail feathers! That being said, a good pose, good light and even a catchlight in the eye! As these guys are 'local', try again. You're off to a great start!
