Happy Birthday, Dr Ted! With all of the awards and tributes through the years
that you have earned, I would respectfully submit that you include David’s
email below for its heartfelt and concise eloquence. Happy birthday, sir. Those
of us who have seen your images are all the better for having done so. Thank
you, sir.
Best regards,

For those here who do not know Ted, suffice it to say he's the photographer
we should all aspire to be....
I first met Ted some 25 years ago, and what little I've accomplished in
photography, I owe to him.
Y'see, Ted is a pretty fair photographer. He has his own collection of
280,000 negatives in the National Archives of Canada. Another 100,000 in the
collection of the National Gallery. He has won more honours and awards
than I knew existed, including the Order of Canada, for his photography.
And, back in 2006 (?) the US magazine "Photographer's Forum" simply called
him "Canada's Greatest Living Photographer." (It's a term he hates, but it
fits.)
Ted doesn't post as much on our list as he used to, but if he does, and
offers you some advice, you'd best pay attention. The man knows whereof he
speaks!
Should you want to put a face to the name, here's Ted at the opening night of
his one-man-show at the Leica Gallery, NYC, back in 2014.

Should you want to see his work, it's at http://tedgrantphoto.com/ It's
worth your time to take a gander at it.
So, Ted, Rose and I simply want to wish you a very happy, 90th birthday,
followed by many more, to come! We could not ask for a finer friend.
