[LRFlex] Fotodiox adapter UPDATE

OK, guys...

I took the bull by the horn and pushed the blade of a small, slot-blade screwdriver into the gap in the kerf cut in the steel that forms the Leica half of the adapter. No need to twist.

The steel is soft, and easily formed (formed=bent, but you can charge more if you "form" something... I learned this from 30 years in retail!).

When I'd done this, the adapter still fit on the lens, but is now nice and snug. There was a bit of rotational movement, but a quick go-round with a jeweler's Philips-head screwdriver cured that. It now works, as it should!

BTW: because the metals is fairly soft, if you over-do the expansion, it reseats itself very nicely, the first time you mount it on the lens. Because there is no angular pull on the lens, once seated, it should stay put, fairly well.

Only time will tell if the cure is a long-term one.

My own thought is to use the fotodiox adapter, adjusting it periodically - as needed - until it breaks. At that time, depending on how long it lasted, I'll decided whether to buy another, or go all the way to the Novoflex adapter. I cannot see any advantage in the CameraQuest one, given it does not have springs and uses the same method of manufacture as the Fotodiox. (Sorry, Ted!)

If yours is new, Bob, don't try this if Fotodiox will give you some assistance. If they won't, this seems to do the trick!
