Thanks Ted, Doug, David.
This was a tough call when I first started doing this project back in 1991.
It was a question of  whether to use an interpretive approach, or a
historical one. 
After seeing the images they had from the turn of the century to the the
present, as it took 50 years to build the Los Angeles harbor breakwater, my
choice to use a more historical approach made sense.
The images I took fit seamlessly with the the early ones.
