THE BURNT OUT AREAS???????
Is it true they will grow back more vibrant and thicker over the next few
years?
To have watched the TV news each day with the "WATER-BOMBERS" and other
aircraft dumping huge volumes of water over the fire areas with no success?
Well certainly very little putting it down, or appearing so? One can only
wonder if any of the forested areas will ever return as new growth?
Certainly said prayers hoping they would help keep you both and neighbours
fire safe!!!!

Six weeks ago, on July 6th, a wildfire started just across the Thompson
River, from Ashcroft, as small town just a 30 minute drive east of us.
It has since grown to burn through 168,092 Hectares or 415,362 Acres if you
prefer.
It is still burning out of control, and is being fought by 593
fire-fighters, 23 helicopters and 135 pieces of heavy equipment.
The fire has long since burned it's way to the north and west of us, forcing
evacuations in Ashcroft, Cache Creek & Clinton though relieving the threat
to Logan Lake.
Fortunately, all three towns were saved, though a few homes were lost to the
fire.
Yesterday, we had to go to Ashcroft on business and while there, I could not
resist taking a three shot Pano of the formerly green hills, across the
Thompson River from the town.
