Fellow Flexers.
This next comment was sent to me, off-list. But, I think the Q&A will be of
interest to many here. So I am quoting the sender, without using his/her name.

Not as much as you might think. IIRC, they were the apo versions, and for all
I know, they may have been the 2x models. It's 14 years ago, and my memory is
not THAT good!
I can remember Ted telling me how Leica told him they do NOT recommend stacking
teleconverters, but Ted did it regularly and it worked remarkably well. I've
seen the 11x14" prints to prove it.
Most pro's I know have at least one 2x (and perhaps a 1.4x) in their bag, at
all times, and I know more than a few who have two. of each.
The theory is that even if the converters lower the quality of the image, the
resulting image is better than not using them and having to blow up the
straight image, to get the same crop.
