Thanks, Bill and David.  I have vowed not to go again unless the weather is more interesting.  Two years ago with the snow was fantastic.  Of course, it makes it harder on the cows and the help. I went this year to give the Q2 a try.  Not really good for this event and most of my shots were with the Nikon and slight telephoto.  One problem is that the weather was so nice there were tons of people there and at 28mm it was impossible to exclude the extraneous people and objects.  Also didn't help that it was covered in the AAA magazine before hand.

Interesting, Aram, that they close down the highway, for the cattle drive.

Here, the cattle mix with the cars and away we go!

A nice series, to be sure. Of the lot, my vote for "People's Choice" is 1010580.jpg - R&R by the river.

Best of the bunch, by far, to my twisted little mind.

Thanks!

David.

Each year some ranchers move their pregnant cow from more open
range to some pens around their ranch so they can give birth where
they can watch them. They close the highway down so they can make
the 6 mile trek. About half way they give them a break in a
campground where they can go to the river and get a drink and munch
on some vegetation. The weather this year was pretty warm (mid
40's) and dry and the lighting was very harsh, so did not get too
many shots that I like. You might notice how sweaty the horses
are. First time they have been worked in a while. Here are the
best of the bunch.
