Calf-roping is a traditional activity on ranches, as cowboys rope a calf,
hog-tie it and brand it.
Over time, it evolved into the modern sport, to see who could rope a calf, get
off his horse & hog-tie it, fastest. The tie must hold for 9 seconds, or the
cowboy get's "no time".
The horses are trained to stop, as soon as they see the calf roped. But, I've
seldom seen a horse put on the brakes so dramatically...
