I think they can be a valid part of the comparison equation.  I know I'd rather 
use a sharper lens than a softer one, particularly if s sharp in-focus image 
can be combined with good bokeh and high color saturation and good flare 
resistance and handling and ... 

What are your concerns, Scott?
