Alabama Hills is an interesting place. I have not explored it extensively as
it us usually a side trip on our way somewhere else. Have hiked around a bit,
and out to Mobius Arch, which offers a great view of Mt. Whitney through it.
If you can catch it with some snow and some clouds it could be a great shot. I
fear I have had one or the other but not both.

Hi Sonny,
Over in California central valley, on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada
Mountains, near the town of Lone Pine, there is an area called Alabama Hills.
The highest peak in the U.S., Mount Whitney, is nearby.
Google "Alabama hills, ca" to see more than you want to know.
When I saw your legend Alabama Dunes, I thought to myself, Gee, how’d Sonny get
out here to the Alabama Hills?
Alas, I discovered you meant dunes in the State of Alabama, probably on the
Gulf coast.
There is a road in the Alabama Hills called Movie Flat Road. Hundreds of movies
and TV productions needing that kind of terrain were filmed there.
I hope that you can see the Alabama Hills someday.
Best regards,
Bill
