For those who've followed my Ice Racing photos ... here is a rather different view of a crash... I managed to shoot several, but this one happened right in front of me, when a rider caught a rut made by the spikes of earlier riders. I was safely (?) behind a 60cm (24" ) by 2 meter (6 feet) wide wall of ice and snow. However, an hour earlier, a young lady had run her bike, and herself, right over that wall, about 3 meters to my right. (Although she was attended to by the ambulance crew, she was only "winded", and was back racing in 30 minutes.) I made this shot, and then ducked below the snow line, in case he and his bike continued on. Fortunately, they didn't. http://www.furnfeather.net/Temps/IR-20.html Tomorrow is the last racing day of the year ... though I'm nor sure I'll make it, being Valentine's Day and all.
