"Come into my parlor..."

Out the front door, and there it is: a crosshatched pattern of gossamer strands, glistening with dew. Spiders keep the insect population down, and create beautiful art besides. I've been looking at this example several mornings now:

But webs are about snaring dinner. And this spider had snared a bunch in just a day, so much he couldn't eat it all. I'd been looking for an interesting way to capture it, and waited until after sunset:
