Thanks Ted, I tried your suggestion and it is an improvement. I was trying
hard for smooth after the original dramatic version. Done now on the
displayed version.

Geoff,

I'd give it a pop of contrast as in print it on a #3 or #4 paper.

But then I lean toward a slightly snappier look to B&W prints certainly in
scenes such as this.

It is based on a similar shot to another conversion. This time with much
less tonal manipulation in the conversion.
