Graham offered the mysteries of the Noctilux known only to a few! ;-)
Subject: #355

When I first got the Noctilux I was told to remove the lens cap very slowly
or it could suck all the light out of the room. I thought I would be safe
outdoors but I removed the lens cap in one go and it not only sucked all of
the light out of a sizeable chunk of the sky it damn near sucked me in with
it. Fortunately (all things are relative) the rewind crank went up my left
nostril and slowed me down enough for me to regain my footing.<<<<

Hi Graham,
Sorry we owners of the Noctilux hadn't given you forewarning about the light sucking phenomenon the lens creates under certain conditions. It's obvious you didn't experience the sonic boom that drives air-traffic controllers crazy if you should remove the lens cap in an airport. ;-)

If you wish to drive the airport security people a shade whiter haired, do it a couple of times providing you keep the lens and camera close to your arm and side while removing said lens cap. :-) I thought of it at Heathrow in London the other day, however the machine gun toting bobbies were a bit of a deterrent! ;-)

It's obvious the Nocti did it's job well in your photograph as it's an admirable effect, although I suspect the lens was given a slight magic hand manipulation in the darkroom? ;-) But it's a very effectively created bonus.
