Assessing Digital Evidence in Cyberviolence Cases: A Webinar for Judges and
Judicial Officers
September 20, 2019
1:00pm PT | 2:00pm MT | 3:00pm CT | 4:00pm ET
(90 minutes)
Are you stumped by emojis? Do you want to know more on how to assess technology
evidence in cyberviolence cases? The National Network to End Domestic Violence
(NNEDV) and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ)
invite you to join our webinar for judges and judicial officers who preside
over technology facilitated domestic violence cases - "Assessing Digital
Evidence in Cyberviolence Cases: A Webinar for Judges and Judicial Officers."
This 90-minute webinar focuses on assessing digital evidence and understanding
the technology dynamics within domestic violence cases. Participants will be
able to assess and analyze technology evidence and gain a better understanding
of the types of technologies and various platforms that are misused in domestic
violence cases. This webinar includes material from the newly released
Cyberviolence Court Training Initiative Workshop - a four day, highly
interactive and intensive judicial education curriculum, developed in
collaboration between NNEDV, NCJFCJ, and judges across the country.
This webinar will be presented by the Honorable Elizabeth Berns, Family Court
Judge, King County Superior Court; Stephine Bowman, Program Attorney, NCJFCJ;
and Elaina Roberts, JD, Technology Safety Legal Manager, NNEDV.

Why you should attend!
The need for this content is clear. Regarding cyberviolence, many judges have
told us:
"Cyberviolence is the fastest growing area of abuse in DV."
"Judges need to be the leaders in their jurisdiction regarding the use of
technology and the law."
*Although the intended audience for this webinar is judges and judicial
officers, court personnel are welcome to attend.
Closed captioning will be provided. If you have questions regarding this
webinar or the Cyberviolence Project, please contact Stephine Bowman at
