Could also be an accipiter (e.g. Cooper’s Hawk or Sharp-shinned Hawk) in the
area. When the birds seem to completely disappear from our feeders, we
sometimes find a predator perching on our fence or in a nearby tree. It is
amazing how feeder birds just go absent when one of these threats is in the
area.
It can be a great opportunity to observe the hawks!

White-winged Doves in the mornings, followed by Collard Doves and House
Sparrows. The thistle feeder should have 6 to 8 House Finches.
This morning ands afternoon, no birds.
I expect the storm last night was very difficult for the birds, and wonder
where they are.
