Love it! I hope one drops in at my house one day. Thanks for sharing your story.

Okay, I have to give my Flammulated Owl Story. On April 24, 2003, Mary and
I were returning home from an evening walk when we heard Blue Jays mobbing
something near my house. We were able to see a small owl sitting on the
fence near the front of our home, underneath a live oak tree. Mary retrieved
my binoculars and bird field guide for me so I could keep my eyes on the owl.
It did move into the oak, but I was to identify it as a Flammulated Owl. I
called Anthony, though he was skeptical, he came over and with a flashlight,
he confirmed it was a Flammulated Owl. Additional birders arrived the next
morning but no further sightings were made.
On occasion I find small owl pellets on the top of the fence brick columns
and wonder whether a Flam has returned. Though I check, I have not seen any
additional small owls here at the house. When possible I check those mobbing
jays!
