Hi All,
I went for a walk below Canyon Lake #6 and observed 26 species of birds.
Species of interest were:
Golden-crowned Kinglets 3
Ruby-crowned Kinglets 2
Brown Thrasher 1
Brown Creeper 1
Carolina Wren 2
Belted Kingfisher 3
Sandhill Cranes 26 (flyover)
Also, the oxbow had water standing in it, not sure where the water came from-it
has not rained enough recently to provide water. One more thing, a caterpillar
was crawling across the trail as I was hiking out.
