Greetings All:
I did a drive- around of Ribble Park at about 10:00 this morning and -
finally (my fourth visit) - lucked into the White-breasted Nuthatch.
It was high in the pine tree at the southwest corner of the park with
1 Northern Flicker and a bunch of Eurasian Collared Doves.
The bird has not, to my knowledge, been found in the morning - perhaps
the ongoing weather event (whatever it is) has shifted its routine a
bit.
Be advised, if you bird the park solo during a weekday (and this may
apply only to men) there is at least one individual who will come into
the park and tell you to leave or they are going to call the police. I
think the proximity of an individual with binoculars and camera to a
school is unsettling to certain folk ... and this particular folk is
not listening to any stories one has to tell about birdwatching.
