If you haven’t noticed, uplands are moving through our area in great
numbers.
I had at least 5 on Bison Playa Road in Hockley County as well as a
Harris’s Hawk, which could be the same one I had earlier in the year? I
check about once a week on the road and haven’t seen it since.
In addition, I was near Anton/Roundup and saw about 10 more upland across
both Hockley and Lubbock counties. Great showing of both yellowlegs at
roundup playa.
I don’t remember the location as I am typing but there is a great playa in
hockley county that I saw that Sherri was going to, it had about 100
avocets and 20 ibises tonight. The other day it had 40+ black crowned night
herons. Lots of ducks but too far to tel what’s what even in my scope.
Heading to boles to try and catch more uplands!
