Swarovski and Zeiss both make exceptional optics. They are certainly among the
best and you can’t go wrong with either. I don’t look through any brand that I
can’t afford though, so we got a Vortex scope :) They make high end optics as
well and one big benefit to Vortex is that if anything happens to it (except
loss or theft) they will repair it or replace it for free. Their motto is
basically “we don’t care who did it or what happened, we’ll fix it”. That’s
extra nice in a windy environment. I am very careful with my optics but during
the thrill of hawks streaming overhead once, my scope did go down in the wind.
On concrete. Vortex fixed it and even paid for the shipping both ways. I highly
recommend finding a store that sells the scope(s) you are interested in and
asking the sales staff if you can take them outside to test them. Testing them
inside is never the same. You’re welcome to look through my Vortex, if you
