Yesterday I went by McAllister Park to photograph the Burrowing owls I have
seen there. I saw two yesterday. In the past I have seen one more. These
two are near the skate park at the end of the road in a burrow near the uncut
grass, so a ways out. The third one was a no show and its burrow is closer
to the skate park near the trees.
On my way home I went to the very end of Quaker in the field on the left near
a football stadium. I could hear a bobwhite calling. So naturally I called
back. We did this for a good 30 minutes and I never saw him. The weeds are
so grown up with all this rain. However, as I was driving off, I saw
movement and there it was. In fact there were 3.
I also observed two Kites hunting, a Swainson's hawk, kingbirds and of
course white wing doves.
Not a bad morning.
Fyi: I haven't seen the scaled quail.
Have a great day!
