Ari has more details, but a week or so ago he sent me a photo of a duck he
found at Mackenzie Park a few weeks earlier that he marked down as a
Mexican Duck.
Upon looking at the photo, I immediately saw a dark black spot on the gape
which looked really good for Mottled Duck to me.
This evening (1/08/2023) right before sunset, Ari said surprisingly, that
the same duck was STILL at Mackenzie.
I rushed there and got some great photos.
I sent it to a friend, with no context, and they said Mottled Duck. Since
then, several others have chimed in and agreed on Mottled Duck.
It was with a female Mallard at Mackenzie, near the bridge by JoyLand.
