3 days ago the first reports, confirmed with photos, came in from Maxwell
NWR of a Long-Tailed Duck and a Surf Scoter. And not the same Long-Tailed
reported earlier this season. Also there have been other reports of other
Scoters and other Scoter species earlier this year. I think all bodies of
water should be carefully checked. Maybe there is a sea duck invasion
coming or occurring as well as an irruptive one for the songbirds/finches.
I'm going to look for B. Waxwings and Eiders!
