Greetings All:
The curse was finally lifted - two Western Kingbirds showed up on 16 April
2016 and were still in the yard this morning; setting up a nest in the
fruitless mulberry tree in the front yard. This is the latest date, in
over ten years, for the species to manifest itself as a nesting species in
my yard.
Two Lincoln's Sparrows were seen daily throughout the week.
One white-stripe morph White-throated Sparrow was in the yard on 15 April
2016.
Seven Swainson's Hawks flew over on 16 April 2016.
Also lots of first of year butterflies: Common Sootywings, Sachem, Gray
Hairstreak, and Lupine Blue.
