We did a quick evening spin around the cemetery and Lake 6. Didn’t see much
new at the cemetery but the highlights were a couple mountain bluebirds,
western bluebirds, a harrier, and a gold-fronted woodpecker. We also saw what
might have been a Townsend’s solitaire again, but we didn’t get a great look
at it. Then we went around to what we call the canopy trail. It’s just north
of the dam on the east side of the lake. There are trees on either side and a
bunch of logs across the entrance. We saw an Eastern phoebe, Cooper’s hawk,
and two opossums on the lower trail, and at the top there were two verdins, a
ruby crowned kinglet, and a Carolina wren. Not a bad evening outing!
