I actually got excited too early I believe with my confirmation.
I am seeing yellow lores. While the legs are green, I am seeing mostly
black on the forelegs and the development of the "yellow shoes" we all know
and love about snowy egrets.
After looking in my Sibley, I think this will be a juvenile snowy egret,
which says that some individuals can show pale bill and legs (July-Sept)
like this guy.
Still, a fun bird to look at!

LBHE at Canyon Lake 6 this morning on the dam when we arrived just after 7
am. It wasn't there when we left. We thought it was a juvenile Snowy Egret
until we got home and reviewed pictures and noticed the gray bill and
lores. I've attached the poor photos for further comment if anyone feels
strongly one way or another.
