Thank you again, Glenda! I had an awesome time with everyone. Our little group
also saw several different types of Dark-eyed Juncos. Phillip saw a few
pink-sided, and as I was leaving I spotted what I thought was a Spotted Towhee
in the treetops, but knowing they are mostly ground dwellers checked my guide
after getting home and determined it was a dark male Oregon variety Junco. The
female Oregon also has pink sides, but the pink sided and Oregon look
incredibly similar.
We also saw several red-tailed hawks, one of which Sheri thought was a dark
morph. My guides showed it might be an immature dark morph.
A really great day of birding, with beautiful fall weather. I always feel my
skills improve with such fantastic experienced birders around!

If you missed the bird walk yesterday, it was a good one. Crisp morning with
low wind and full sun made for a delightful outing. 14 birders attended and
birds were moving about.
Joe Girgente shared his eBird list with me (below). Joe wasn’t present the
entire time, so if you were present and documented other sights, please share
on this thread. Nancy Neill took some lovely Bluebird (and other) photos
which hopefully will be shared in the next newsletter.
Please come out for bird walks, and please consider volunteering for the
Christmas Bird Count. Reply to Anthony, Lena or me if interested.
