You go to Buffalo Springs Lake, paying the lake fee as you enter the
property. Bear left and eventually you will pass over the dam. At
the top of the first hill past the dam there is a gravel parking lot
on the left - the trail on this side of the river starts here and
works its way down the canyon to the river. Alternatively, you can
park at the lot that projects into the lake from the dam and make your
way, very carefully - it is damn steep, down the concrete pad and
eventual trail to the left below the dam which leads to the trail on
that side of the river. There used to be a bridge connecting the
halves of the trail but it was lost due to erosion and widening of the
river ... and has not been replaced.
Any access to the LEAS nature trail is supposed to come from the BSL
side and requires payment of the lake fee.

How does one enter the LEAS nature trail. I see birders on the trail,
