Great! We are so fortunate to have that center. Last summer my daughter,
then 12, volunteered there. Shaped her life. Made a lot of friends. (Some of
them were human.) One of the sadder, though not tragic (I'm mindful of the
cost to so many people) of the pandemic is that they had to suspend the junior
volunteer program this summer.

Today a Flammulated owl was rescued in NW Lubbock. Obviously not chase-able
but that would of been cool. I believe this represents the third record for
Lubbock county and a handful for the region. Seems to be a good year, as one
was at melrose, and at least one on El Paso this fall.
