Hi,
Two woodpeckers alighted in my alley neighbor's tree. One was a Ladder-backed,
the other, a Downy Woodpecker. I say Downy because it was conveniently on the
same trunk as the Ladder-backed, offering a favorable size comparison. When I
lived in the Northeast I could tell them apart individually, being used to
them. It's been so long, though, that I need another bird to gauge the
difference.
A new yard bird for me.
Cheers,
Bill
