Greetings All:
I located an adult Common Crane roughly 2-3 miles east of O'Donnell in Lynn
County. I got some absolutely horrible photographs (I was shooting at a
quarter mile with 25 mph winds smashing into my back and stability was an
issue - couldn't even get much by leaning against the car as gusts were
rocking the car). The bird was with 3500 to 8000 Sandhill Cranes and could
only be viewed by looking south from FM 2053. All dirt roads in the
vicinity are private - DON'T TRESPASS!
This might well be one of the birds that popped up in adjacent Terry County
last year and is exhibiting the same behavior: hanging with the largest
group of Sandhill Cranes available.
