That is an amazing report on the Burrowing Owls, more young than I expected.

I have always thought of the Burrowing Owls as 'so cute'. Now I will remember that they are also ferocious.!

I have a lot of young Burrowing Owls at my place right now. I’ve noted 18 so far. Witnessed one adult female kill two Mourning Dove and a very young Cottontail Rabbit to feed her 5 young (5-6 weeks old) over the last two weeks. She looks fierce by appearance. It’s amazing watching the adults protecting their young. The adult pair work closely together to guard and care for their babies.
