We just had a Brewer's Sparrow on the ground by our front yard feeder, first
seen by Brad.Pat and I saw 3 Turkey Vultures on the north side of Miller lake
on the way to church this AM.Still at least 20 siskins and at least 12 WC
Sparrows.A pair of RW Blackbirds and a pair of Cardinals.Also this morning, a
Red Shafted Flicker
Brewer's Sparrows are usually seen in bunches, just like Chipping and Clay
Colored Sparrows.
Brad went with me to "Natives of Texas" at Kerrville, on Friday, to get some
plants for our native plant yard and a couple of plants for the Arboretum, and
we saw our FOS Turkey Vultures just below the Caprock Friday.Then in Kerrville
right down town on each side of the main street there was 2 enormous metal
electric transmission towers that there must have been at least 200 Black and
Turkey vultures roosting.
Not much time for birding, but at the nursery there were dozens of Cardinals
singing and we spotted a White Throated Sparrow and a Spotted Towhee.George,
