I went out to the playa off Bison Rd in Levelland late morning/early afternoon
and wow! If you like waterfowl and shorebirds, this is the place to go! More
birds kept coming in and it was hard to pull myself away. I didn't get the
Stilt Sandpiper that I was looking for, but there were lots of great birds.

Comments: Overcast, moderate winds (11-16 mph), cold (51 degrees). Sun came out
for a bit but remained cloudy. Birds just kept flying in.

1 Greater White-fronted Goose -- Did not see this goose or the Cackling Geese
during my first 1.5 hours of scanning. Fairly certain they flew in. Had white
behind the bill and was the same size as the Cackling Geese. Far shore.

1 Franklin's Gull -- Breeding plumage. Very rosy breast, large eye arcs, and
large white dots on tail.
